B.D. Griffin was sworn in as the Montgomery County Attorney on March 19, 2019. He joined the County Attorney’s Office on January 1, 2013 as Chief of the Real Property Section. He served as Section chief for two sections (Real Property and Litigation) in 2014 and was named First Assistant in 2015. B.D. is a lifelong resident of Montgomery County and was admitted to the Texas bar in 1984.  He is also admitted to practice before several United States District Courts in Texas and the U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.

B.D. Griffin has practiced law in Montgomery County since 1984. In 1995, he started his own solo practice with offices in The Woodlands and Conroe.B.D. Griffin has been board certified in Commercial Real Estate Law and Residential Real Estate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization since 1997.  He is a member of the Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section, the Litigation Section and Government Law Section of the State Bar of Texas. He received his Juris Doctor degree from South Texas College of Law in 1983 (summa cum laude) and his undergraduate degree from Trinity University (1979, B.M. cum laude).  He served as President of the Montgomery County Bar Association in its 1994-95 term.

B.D. is married to Chevis Griffin and they live in Woodforest subdivision.  His son is a graduate of the University of Texas and his step-daughters are graduates of Texas A&M.  He is a lifelong member of St. James The Apostle Episcopal Church in Conroe.
